Chris Middleton

Chris’ IT career spans more than 20 years, working across both public and private sectors and a number of industry sectors.

After gaining a degree in Computer Science with French in 1988, he initially worked in the Middle East for a private college and software house.  Since returning to the UK, he has worked across the IT industry, including software houses, government agencies, and national and multinational companies. He has experience across a wide variety of technical platforms, from PC to mainframe.

He is ITIL V3 qualified, with extensive experience of working within the ITIL service management framework, and he has undertaken the roles of Incident, Problem and Change manager. A strong service ethos has ensured frequent recognition for outstanding customer service. He has a particular gift for communicating complex technical issues to non-technical audiences at all levels, from system users through to senior management; and for creating clear, comprehensible documentation.

Skills cover the full development lifecycle, and his experience includes business analysis, design, development, testing and support. He has been involved in the development of complex systems including document management, accounting, import/export documentation and payment processing.

He has experience of working in regulated industries, and can deliver solutions which take into account all required security and audit considerations, including any specific industry scheme rules for data security.

In his spare time, he enjoys cinema and music, as well as travel, and good food and wine taken with friends. He is an incurable gadget lover and technophile, with a house full of small black objects which make various beeping noises. He is currently failing to learn to play the guitar.
